Adult Care & Back-Up Care

Family Care Solutions helps you with your caregiving responsibilities through resources, information, and referrals for care.

We know that care arrangements can fall through at the last minute.

Adult Back-Up Care provides a range of temporary caregiving solutions for times when your regular care arrangements break down for your spouse, domestic partner, parent or parent-in-law or even yourself.

You can receive:

  • Help securing same-day care or care for a date in the future
  • Flexibility to use a provider of your choice
    • Licensed and certified in-home care providers (in-plan network providers)
    • Other licensed providers in your area (out-of-network providers)
    • A personal caregiver you know and trust, including family member, neighbor, or friend

Back-Up Care Rates

  • Employees are eligible for 5 visits per employee per benefit year.
  • $15 daily copay per visit when you use network providers
  • If you use an out-of-network provider, you will be reimbursed for the reasonable cost of care, less the $15 copay
  • When you use a personal caregiver, you will be reimbursed up to $100 per visit for the cost of care

Family Care Solutions supports you with your caregiver responsibilities through resources, information, and local referrals. You are also eligible for up to two in-person visits per year from a credentialed care manager who provides in-person assessments for you and your loved ones. A Care Manager will evaluate your loved one’s physical, mental, social, and financial needs and recommend a customized care plan. Then, a Family Care Solutions specialists will provide support after the assessment.

Care for your adult loved ones includes:

  • Referrals to senior housing, community programs, and in- and out-of-home caregiving options
  • Resources to help with safety concerns, diet, nutrition, transportation, and more
  • Information about support groups and respite care
  • Online resources such as provider lookup guides, webinars, podcasts, and more
  • Monthly Care Talks that provide insight and guidance on adult caregiving subject areas
