Children Living with Disabilities

Caring for a child with a disability can be overwhelming, and you deserve the resources, tools, and support that can help you and your child succeed.

There are many additional caregiving challenges when caring for a child with a disability, including:

  • Getting your child formally tested and diagnosed
  • Identifying early childhood assessments, early intervention, and school programs  available for my child
  • Transitioning my special needs child to adult independent living
  • Connecting with others who understand your experience and identifying community resources

Family Care Solutions specialists can help by providing expert guidance, up-to-date information, and referrals to providers and resources. They can provide care resources, such as advocacy, respite care, support groups, as well as education and financial resources, including school and program recommendations, guidance around special education law, and learning disability information. You also have access to monthly Care Talks which provide insight and guidance in different subject areas, including Disability & Neurodiversity and Child Care & Parenting.
